Mother Earth is a luxurious gift to us and we have the privilege to experience her beauty in many forms. To protect our planet for many generations to come, Xela Swim aims to expand consciousness and support environmental initiatives where possible.
How does Xela Swim practise Sustainability?
Limited Prints
All Xela Swim bikini prints are designed in-house and created in limited numbers to avoid excess stock that contribute to fast impulsive fashion filling landfill. We work closely with our manufacturer in Bali to ensure that the creation process is monitored and calculated efficiently, leaving close to no fabric wastage.
Sustainable Fabrics
Our favourite part of the creative process is searching for the most beautiful sustainable fabrics that change the way we wear and appreciate fashion with respects to our environment. We’ve been busy sourcing the best sustainable fabrics and will continue to do so in our future collections. Our newest collection is made from ECONYL® regenerated Nylon and REPREVE® yarn created from recycled plastic bottles caught directly from our oceans.
The ECONYL® Regeneration System starts with rescuing waste such as fishing nets and fabric scraps from all over the world. That waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover all of the nylon possible that is used to make beautiful fabrics that Xela Swim is passionate about adopting.
REPREVE® is made with less carbon, using non-toxic products. It reduces global warming potential compared to conventional virgin polyester. REPREVE® generated fabric is high-quality, soft on skin and long lasting which is exactly what we look for when sourcing our fabrics.
Our Packaging
It is important for us as a brand to consider all environmental aspects from design right down to our deliverables.
Our cardboard boxes are proudly FSC certified (Forestry Stewardship Council) and printed using water-based inks, making them completely recyclable.
Our satchels are biodegradable and reusable if you need to return your parcel back to us for any reason.
